God never compels us

I was reading this and thought how amasing should share this with all of you-

Psalm 1 (The Message)

1How well God must like you— you don't hang out at Sin Saloon, you don't slink along Dead-End Road, you don't go to Smart-Mouth College.
2-3 Instead you thrill to God's Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You're a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.
4-5 You're not at all like the wicked, who are mere windblown dust— Without defense in court, unfit company for innocent people. 6 God charts the road you take. The road they take is Skid Row

God whom we follow does not compel us to do what he expects us to do but He gives freewill and choices that we can choose. We walk by the choices we make. Right choices build us and the wrong choices break us. We can either delight in the word of God, meditate on it and apply the same in our life (to be conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ) or follow the worldly ways - doing ungodly acts (as directed by sinful desires) ; passing /breaking the limit that God kept for us ; being scornful. If we make the right choice of listening and obeying Him, we will be able to live blessed, fruitful and perfect Christian life. We will prosper in whatever we do.

The last sentence "we will prosper in whatever we do" has been misquoted of-late. If what we do is in God's will-and-purpose for our lives and is in accordance to His word I believe "anything is possible! (Mark 8:23)" and I don't mean that in some vague philosophical way, but, in True Reality. :-) ...

This is one of my favourite psalms and probably also one of the very first I learnt as a kid. And I'm so amazed everytime at the new revelations that come from it.

He provides us the guidelines and then leaves the choice up to us. Of course the choices that we make always have consequences that we have to face be it good or bad. But what a bonus it is to receive blessings for making the right choices and for following His ways!
